The operations of the Alabama Unit are governed by a Cooperators Committee operating under a formal cooperative agreement signed by the U.S. Geological Survey, Biological Resources Division; Auburn University; Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries; U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Wildlife Management Institute.

	US  Geological Survey provides funding and salaries for federal scientists.
	Auburn University provides funding, administrative support, academic appointments, and faciltiies.
	Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division of Alabama Department of ConservatIon and Natural Resources provides operations and research funding and is an important employer of Unit-trained students.
	U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service provides advice on and funds research and is an important employer of Unit-trained students.
	Wildlife Management Institute provides advice and support for the Cooperative Research Unit program at a national level.
