2012 Ag Roundup Set for Homecoming Saturday, Nov. 3

AUBURN, Ala.—Auburn University’s 33rd annual Fall Roundup and Taste of Alabama Agriculture is set for homecoming Saturday, Nov. 3, from 8 to 11 a.m. at Ag Heritage Park. Activities will be set up on the south side of the park, with the main entrance located at the Alabama Farmers Pavilion, 620-A S. Donahue Drive.

Ag Roundup, which has earned a reputation as Auburn’s largest tailgate party, is open to all and features a smorgasbord of foods grown and/or produced in Alabama—among them corn dogs, sausage, burgers, boiled peanuts, satsumas, fried catfish and chicken, turnip greens and sweet potato fries. In addition to the food, Ag Roundup offers informative displays, children's activities, a visit from the AU Pep Band and live and silent auctions that raise money for College of Agriculture scholarships.

Admission to Ag Roundup is $5, payable at the gate; children 6 and under are admitted free.

Ag Roundup is co-sponsored by the College of Agriculture and the AU Agricultural Alumni Association, with corporate partners Milo’s Tea, John Deere, TriGreen, Snead and SunSouth.

Ag-related businesses, on-campus departments and organizations and commodity groups are invited to set up exhibits for free at Ag Roundup. Exhibitors will have about 15 feet of setup space each as well as a table and chairs and can bring their own small tents up to 10 feet by 10 feet. No product sales will be allowed, but samples of products may be offered.

Donations of items for the auctions are welcome.
