Alabama Dairy Field Day Set for April 27

AUBURN, Ala. — The 2010 Alabama Dairy Field Day will be held Tuesday, April 27, at Auburn University’s E.V. Smith Research Center Headquarters in Shorter.

Registration opens at 8 a.m., and the program will begin at 9 a.m. Potential topics to be covered include grazing versus conventional dairying, alternative feeds, price stabilization and transitioning from one generation to the next.

The event, which will wrap up at 3 p.m., is co-hosted by the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station, Auburn’s College of Agriculture and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.

All who plan to attend the field day must preregister by April 19 for meal-planning purposes. To preregister, contact Auburn animal sciences dairy specialist Boyd Brady at 334-844-1562, 334-321-8826 or bradybo@auburn.edu

The event is free to all dairy producers. For non-producers, the registration fee will be $10 per person, payable at the event.

Sponsorships are available for the field day. Prospective sponsors are invited to contact Brady for more information.

The E.V. Smith Research Center is located at Exit 26 on Interstate 85, halfway between Montgomery and Auburn.
