Taste of Alabama Agriculture Set for AU Homecoming Game

AUBURN, Ala. — The 21st annual Taste of Alabama Agriculture will be held Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. until one hour prior to kickoff of the Auburn vs. Louisiana Tech game.

Billed as the season's largest tailgate party, the Taste will be held on Ag Hill adjacent to Comer Hall on the AU campus. The Taste includes dozens of food items grown or processed in Alabama-from collared greens and orange and blue potatoes to traditional fried catfish, chicken, pork, and beef products.

The event is held annually in conjunction with the College of Agriculture Fall Roundup. Last year over 2,000 people attended the Taste.

In addition to food and drink, the Taste features music by the Agri-Opry, a group of local musicians who get together once a year for this event. An auction, featuring a professional auctioneer, will be held, along with a petting zoo, face painting and many attractions for children.

The event is a joint effort among the College of Agriculture, the AU Ag Alumni Association, and the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station. Several education exhibits, including a mini-cotton gin and sorghum mill, will be featured at the event.

All the proceeds from the Taste of Alabama Agriculture benefit activities in the College of Agriculture at Auburn.
