Hearn Joins Experiment Station Staff

AUBURN, Ala. - Robert A. "Robyn" Hearn, a native of Roanoke, was recently named associate editor for the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station at Auburn University, according to Roy Roberson, assistant director and editor for the Experiment Station.

Hearn is a 1983 graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in public relations/journalism. He will be working in the Office of Research Information conducting public relations and publications activities for Experiment Station researchers and administrators.

Hearn came to the Experiment Station from a position as assistant editor for University Relations, Auburn University's information office. In his previous position he was responsible for promoting Auburn's research program and generating publications for the vice president for research at Auburn.

Prior to joining University Relation's staff, he had been a newspaper reporter with the Holmes County Advertiser in Bonifay, Fla., the Washington County News in Chipley, Fla., and the Jackson County Floridian in Marianna, Fla. He also had worked with the Alabama Emergency Management Agency in Montgomery.

"Robyn's background in editing and public relations, and his understanding of the research program at Auburn, provides him with strong skills that can help carry out the mission of the Experiment Station," said Roberson. "We are very pleased to employ his talents in our office."

Hearn is the son of Betty Hearn and the late J.A. Hearn of Roanoke and is a 1979 graduate of Handley High School in Roanoke. He and his wife, Lisa Cook Hearn, have one daughter, 19-month-old Jessica.
