Course Description
Identification, culture, and landscape use of small trees, shrubs and vines.
Meeting Times
Lectures: Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 to 9:15 a.m. in 105 Funchess Hall unless otherwise specified.
Laboratories: Tuesdays and thursdays from 2:00 to 4:50 in 105 Funchess Hall unless otherwise specified.
Office Hours
Mondays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. or by appointment.

Tobacco Products
Use of tobacco products during lectures and laboratories is prohibited.
Cellular Phones and Pagers
Cellular phones and pagers should not be audible or used during lectures or laboratories. During tests and quizzes, cellular phones will be in the off position. Calculators will be provided if needed during testing.
Student Contributions
Each student is expected to attend and participate in all classes and laboratories. Arrangements to make-up work due to excused absences will be initiated by the student. Refer to Tiger Cub on-line at http://www.auburn.edu/tigercub/.
Each student is expected to complete 2 lecture exams during the semester. The first exam will be taken on June 16 and the second exam will be taken on July 14. Exams will be cumulative including lecture material and reading assignments. Each exam will account for 150 points towards your final course grade.
Each student is expected to complete a final lecture exam on August 3 during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The lecture final exam will be cumulative including all lecture material and reading assignments for the semester. The final exam will account for 300 points toward your final course grade.
Each student is expected to complete 9 plant identification quizzes during Tuesday laboratory sessions. Each quiz will be worth 50 points towards your final course grade with the lowest quiz score being dropped. The first quiz missed during the semester or quiz with lowest score will count as your drop quiz.
Random progress evaluations will be given during the semester. These evaluations will account for 50 points of your final grade.
Student Evaluation
Letter grades will only be assigned to your final grade. All grading during the semester will be on a numerical basis, and final grades will be determined by accumulated point totals. A total of 950 points will be possible. Final grades will be determined as follows: A - 855 to 950 total points, B - 760 to 854 total points, C - 665 to 759 total points, D - 570 to 664 total points, and F - below 569 total points.
