PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY: HORT 7070
Plant Biotechnology course (HORT7070), which provides students with the knowledge and understanding of plant biotechnology, the basic principles and application of plant tissue, cell and protoplast culture, recombinant DNA technology and genetic transformation of plants and their application to plant improvement. The laboratory exercises allow students to gain experience with plant tissue culture methodologies, rDNA technology and plant gene transformation techniques.

EXPERIMENTAL METHODS: HORT 7010
The course is designed to teach scientific methods of research, demonstrate effective experimental design, statistical analysis and interpretation of output, gain experience with horticultural research methodologies and scientific techniques, develop an understanding of project and grant proposal writing and gain publication skills
