Turnout was determined by ginning hand-processed seed cotton samples on a small gin without cleaners. This percentage is usually higher than commercial gin turnout but is consistent between varieties for comparison. Each year, the agronomic crops team for ACES conducts on-farm variety evaluation trials. Replication at each location is included where possible; however, some of our trials are single or double strips across the field. Producers and other users of these data should be aware of the limitations of non-replicated strip trials and should always consult as many sources as possible (ie., multiple locations, multiple states, multiple years) when selecting cotton varieties. |
