SEE Program

The SEE Auburn Program is an intensive four-week summer program for 36 under-served students majoring in one of the seven colleges sponsoring this program. The primary objective of SEE Auburn is to:

increase enrollment for under-served populations;
increase students' mathematics and English skills; and
expose students earlier to the fields of business, agriculture, forestry, education, human science, architecture, design, construction and nursing.

Students take two classes designed to prepare them for courses in freshman calculus and English. Each course has a parallel workshop supplementing the classroom instruction. The classroom teaching is conducted by regular faculty members while the workshops are supervised by graduate students. The purpose of the program is to prepare students for freshman courses in the fall. Students will not receive university credit toward a degree for these courses; however, they will benefit greatly from the on-campus experience. Other activities include: the StrengthQuest Curriculum, guest presentations, speakers, field trips and a ropes course. These activities will be achieved after the set schedule is complete. The program will be used to determine which courses students should take in the fall.
