Wallace Berry is a native of North Carolina and is presently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Poultry Science. He is an undergraduate advisor, advisor to the Poultry Science Club, former Chair of Radiation Safety committee, and former chair and current member of S-289 Regional Poultry Genetics Project. He is a member of the Poultry Science Association, the Society for the Study of Reproduction, the Departmental Scholarship Committee, and the College of Agriculture information Technology Committee. His research focuses on broiler breeders with a primary interst in reproductive physiology and management. His teaching responsibilities include poultry breeding, fertility and hatchability.

Education

1989 - Ph.D., Physiology, North Carolina State
1984 - M.S., Physiology, North Carolina State
1981 - B.S., Zoology, North Carolina State
1981 - B.S., Poultry Science, North Carolina State

Research

Primary research area is reproductive physiology with the goal of improving the reproductive efficiency of broiler breeders. Research program includes studies of male and female reproductive efficiency, collaborative studies with departmental colleagues on nutritional and environmental interactions with reprodutive physiology, and studies of embryonic viability. Other research includes studies of tibial dyschondroplasia in broilers, collaborative projects in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Universtiy of Alabama Birmingham, and industrial contract research projects.

TEACHING / INSTRUCTION:
