2008 Brazil Study/Enrichment Tour Printable version
Dear Prospective Study/Enrichment The Office of International Agriculture in the Auburn University College of Agriculture conducts annual Study Tours. Previous participants have given the Study Tours very high marks in their evaluations. For 2008, we are offering a Study/Enrichment Tour to Brazil tentatively scheduled for August 8 - 17, 2008. Dr. Diego M. Gimenez, Extension Animal Scientist and Associate Professor in the Department of Animal Science will lead this 2008 Study/Enrichment Tour. He has led this tour in previous years, and is very familiar with the sites to be visited. To make this Study/Enrichment Tour possible there must be a minimum of 11 participants. The final itinerary will be based on the actual number of commitments made by June 8, 2008. For your information, a tentative schedule for this trip is attached. To minimize time spent in airports, it features non stop flights from Atlanta to Sau Paulo and returning from Rio Paulo. The schedule includes a wide variety of agricultural site and universities visits, sightseeing, shopping and free time to experience Brazil. In Brazil, our stops include Campo Grande, Cacimba de Pedra, Universidade Estadual do Mato Grosso do Sul – Campus Aquidauna, Universidade para Desenvolmimento do Pantanal,the spectacular Iguassu Falls Brazilian Side, Rio de Janeiro, the Pão de Açucar or Sugar Loaf, Corcovado or Christ the Redeemer and local beaches HOW TO PARTICIPATE The estimated costs for the tour is as follows: $4,630 (Single Occupancy) $4,250 (Double Occupancy) and $4,200 (Triple Occupancy) Prices include Brazilian visa, airfare, Medex Insurance, lodging, in country ground and air transport, guided tours when applicable, all breakfasts and some lunches and dinners. Otherwise, meals are not included. Admission tickets to National Park in Iguassu, Pão de Açucar or Sugar Loaf and Corcovado or Christ the Redeemer are not included.
