Can I apply to this program?
The program is open to all undergraduate students enrolled in biology, chemistry, engineering, or interested in pursuing careers in science. You must be a citizen or permanent residents of the United States and be enrolled in a degree program (part-time or full-time) leading to a baccalaureate or associate degree. High school graduates who have not yet enrolled and students who have already received their bachelor's degrees are not eligible. Women, underrepresented minorities and first generation college students are especially encouraged to apply.
What will you do?
You will acquire hands-on experiences by conducting experimental research in laboratories actively involved in the development of sensors and biosensors. The program will also provide guidance on preparation for graduate school and the graduate experience. In addition, there will be a seminar series on ethics in science to highlight the importance of imposing a high standard of ethics in research endeavors. At the end of the internship, all students will communicate their research results in poster presentations.
Are the expenses covered by the program?
Yes. All stipends, room, board and travel expenses are provided.

The online application for summer program of 2009 will be available in September 2008. Questions? please contact Omar A. Oyarzabal, Program Director, at oyarzoa@auburn.edu or 334-844-2608.
