
SCIENTIFIC NAME: Campsis radicans
COMMON NAME: common trumpetcreeper, cowitch vine, trumpet vine
FLOWERS: Trumpet shaped orange flowers in summer. Blooms June-August. Rubbing against foliage is said to cause cows to itch and some people are allergic and it causes them to itch.

LEAVES: Opposite and odd pinnately compound with 7 to 11 coarsely serrated leaflets.

OTHER: Native to southeast. Can be used on trellises and arbors, but must be kept pruned. Will grow on nearly any location. Member of the Bignoniaceae family. Can be used in the landscape on a arbor or trellis because it is not real vigorous. Excellent attractant for hummingbirds.
