SCIENTIFIC NAME: Castanea pumila

COMMON NAME: Allegheny chinkapin

LEAVES: A narrow short leaf with side veins ending in a short bristle. Some pubescence under the leaf and on the petiole.

BARK:

OTHER: Bushy tree shape. Grows 15' to 30' tall. Fruit (chestnut) has bur around it and is smaller than Castanea mollissima.
