SCIENTIFIC NAME: Berberis sargentiana

COMMON NAME: Sargent barberry

FLOWERS: Yellow and fragrant in the spring.

GROWTH HABIT: Grows 3' to 6' tall in a weeping form if not pruned back.

LEAVES: Does have spines on margins. In full sun the leaves will get reddish/purple.

OTHER: Similar to Berberis julianae except the black fruit does not have a waxy covering and the spines on the leaf margin are slightly less sticky.
