There are many external scholarships available for current and future students. This list of scholarships is external to Auburn University.

The Turf and Ornamental Communicators Association will award one $2,500 fall semester scholarship
(2012-2013 academic year,) to undergraduate college students pursuing a career in green industry communications.
1. To qualify, students must major or minor in technical communications or a green industry related field such as horticulture, plant sciences, botany, agronomy, plant pathology, etc with the intent of using his/her communication skills as part of a career path. The applicant also must demonstrate an interest in using this course of study in the field of communications on a regular basis.
2. Applicants must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or above and a 3.0 in the major area of study (based on a 4.0 scale). Students enrolled in the fall of 2010 can apply for the scholarship. Eligibility, as determined by the TOCA Board of Directors, extends to two and four year program students attending institutions that offer turf management curriculums and communications.
3. The scholarship will be awarded through the bursar's office at the recipient's college or university. Download an application

One scholarship of $4250 will be awarded to a student with a good scholastic standing who is an American citizen in need of financial assistance, who is studying horticulture or related fields such as landscape architecture and horticultural therapy, and whose horticultural career goals involve teaching/research or work in the public sector. Applicants must have completed their 2nd/Sophomore or 3rd/Junior year of an undergraduate school by August 2010 or 4th/Senior year in a 5-year undergraduate program and may be residents of any state who are attending an accredited college or university anywhere in the United States. The Alabama Farmer's Cooperative have two scholarships available: The Alabama Farmer's Cooperative and Auburn University Scholarship Program (available to incoming freshman) and the John H. The Society of Commercial Arboriculture is offering a $2,000 financial scholarship to students majoring in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, or Horticulture in a 4-year program and a $1,000 financial scholarship to students majoring in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, or Horticulture in a 2-year program.

Because Green Matters Scholarship Program. Every year, two deserving students in a green industry-related field are awarded $2,500 scholarships from the Project EverGreen Because Green Matters Scholarship Program. The scholarships are open to undergraduate college students pursuing a career in the green industry.
The Perennial Plant Association Scholarship Program - $1000 and complimentary registration for all lectures and tours at the Perennial Plant Symposium in Portland, Oregon. Click here for an application.
The AGCSA Legacy Scholarship Program offers educational aid to the children and grandchildren of AGCSA Regular members. The awards of $2,000 each are funded by AGCSA and administered by The Donnie Arthur Scholarship Program.
Davey Arbor Grant Program. Applications will be received from schools and colleges through out the United States. All applications will be reviewed with a total of 30 grants of $1,000 being distributed in 2012. Checks will be made payable to their school for fees and tuition.

The DHS Scholarship and Fellowship Program is intended for students interested in pursuing the basic science and technology innovations that can be applied to the DHS mission. This education program is intended to ensure a highly talented science and technology community to achieve the DHS mission and objectives. Eligible students must be studying in a homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (HS-STEM) field with an interest, major, or concentration directly related to one of the homeland security research areas.
