
SCIENTIFIC NAME: Morus rubra
COMMON NAME: red mulberry
LEAVES: 3 types: 3 lobed, 2 lobed (mitten), and no lobes. Pubescent underneath and rough on top. Bigger leaf than Broussonetia papyrifera. Excised petiole exudes milky sap.
BARK: Smooth with lenticels.
OTHER: Grows up to 30' tall. Fruit looks like blackberries. A native weed tree that should not be used in the landscape. A member of the Moraceae family.
