SCIENTIFIC NAME: Rhododendron vaseyi

COMMON NAME: pinkshell azalea

FLOWERS: White with tints of pink involved. Very beautiful. Typical trumpet shaped flowers with exerted stamens that typify native azaleas. Controversy about whether these flowers are fragrant. Some are, but they may be hybrids.

OTHER: Grows 4 - 6' tall. Not as commonly available in the trade as some of the other native azaleas.
