SCIENTIFIC NAME: Neviusia alabamensis

COMMON NAME: snow-wreath

FLOWERS: Very fine white flowers in March for 7 days.

LEAVES: Alternate and simple. Doubly serrate with a cordate base. Up to 2" long.

GROWTH HABIT: Grows 3' to 7' tall and wide with open appearance.

OTHER: Hardy from zone 4 to 8. Native mostly to Alabama. Will do well on moderately dry sites, but prefers some moisture and full sun or part shade. Not a common landscape plant, but be able to identify it. A member of the Rosaceae family. Certainly a conversation piece in the landscape.
