COMMON NAME: Japanese honeysuckle

FLOWERS: Fragrant white flowers in April that fade to yellow.

LEAVES: Opposite and simple. Can be semi-evergreen to deciduous. Pubescent and sometimes ciliate.

GROWTH HABIT: Vigorous vine with red stems.

OTHER: Native to Japan, but has escaped into the wild and is now a noxious weed in many areas of the country. Many people use it around their mailboxes to cover it, but should not be used in the landscape.
