FLOWERS: Perfect, pink with a yellow striated throat for 3 weeks in April. Trumpet shaped and very attractive.
LEAVES: Opposite and pubescent underneath with a ciliate margin and an attenuated tip. Up to 3" in length.
GROWTH HABIT: A shrub that will grow 6' to 10' tall.
OTHER: Hardy from zone 4 to 8. A traditional southern plant. Bark will exfoliate when the plant gets older. Does best in full sun, but will take part shade. Is drought tolerant. Flowers on old wood, so prune after flowering each year. Native to China. A member of the Caprifoliaceae family.
