SCIENTIFIC NAME: Cupressus arizonica

COMMON NAME: Arizona cypress

LEAVES: Have a silver tint and come out all around the twig. Very malodorous.

BARK: Ridged and furrowed, but slightly scaly.

OTHER: Grows 30' to 50' tall. Tree smells like a skunk. You don't want to get down wind of this species. Plant only in full sun. Can be pyramidal or spreading in shape due to seedling variation. Used as a screen. Very drought tolerant and likes high/dry sites. A member of the Cupressaceae family. Has been considered for use as a Christmas tree.
