
SCIENTIFIC NAME: Loropetalum chinense
COMMON NAME: Chinese witchhazel, Holiday Inn plant
FLOWERS: Fragrant white or yellow flowers in the early spring.
GROWTH HABIT: 6' to 20' tall. Can be used as a hedge.
LEAVES: Alternate, with an inequilateral base and pubescent. Less than 1/2" long.
OTHER: Hardy to zone 7b. Use in the southeast only. Full sun is best, but will take part shade. Is used under the sign of nearly every Holiday Inn in the south. A member of the Hamamelidaceae family. Several cultivars are now available.
