LEAVES: Odd pinnately compound (3 to 7 leaflets). Coarsely serrated. Opposite. Light green.

FRUIT: Double samara.

BARK: Young twigs are green.

OTHER: Bad landscape tree because it is short lived, suckers profusely, and has early leaf drop in late summer. Very fast growing species. Grows 40 - 60' tall. Can be deceptively attractive as a young tree but this seldom lasts.
