COMMON NAME: inkberry

FLOWERS: Dioecious.

FRUIT: Purple in the fall.

GROWTH HABIT: Grows 10' tall and wide in a small tree form.

LEAVES: Alternate and up to 2" long with scattered serrations near the tip. Light green.

OTHER: Hardy to zone 4. Native to wet areas in Alabama. Has purple fruit in the fall. Can look good if kept pruned. Some dwarf and tight growing cultivars have been released.
