GROWTH HABIT: A slow growing vine.

LEAVES: Juvenile foliage is tri-lobed while adult foliage is rounded. Veins are white. Up to 4" long. Adult foliage forms on climbing portion of plant and usually protrudes away from surface on which it is growing.

OTHER: Hardy to zone 4. Will grow in deep shade or full sun. Does not grow fast the first or second year unless given excellent conditions to grow in. Will cover in three years. Is an excellent ground cover for shaded areas. It will climb buildings, fences, etc. There are many cultivars, so the leaf size is highly variable. Plant on 10" to 12" centers for groundcover when purchased in 4" pots. A member of the Araliaceae family.
