SCIENTIFIC NAME: Berberis X mentorensis

COMMON NAME: Mentor barberry

FLOWERS: Yellow and fragrant in the spring.

GROWTH HABIT: Grows 3' to 5' tall and wide.

LEAVES: Small and flexible with some spines. Semi-evergreen (will drop some leaves in the fall). Has good red color in fall and winter.

OTHER: Has 3 thorns at the leaf axil. Can be used as a barrier, but be careful of liabilities. A tough plant that can withstand a lot of neglect.
