SCIENTIFIC NAME: Sapium sebiferum

COMMON NAME: Chinese tallow tree, popcorn tree

LEAVES: Rhomboidal shaped with 2 glands at the base of the blade. Up to 4" long. Glabrous. Milky sap exudate from an excised petiole. Excellent orange fall color.

FRUIT: Look just like popcorn in the fall of the year.

BARK:

OTHER: Grows 30' to 50' tall. Not a long lived tree and seedlings come up everywhere. Suckers badly. Easy to transplant. Euphorbiaceae (spurge) family.
