COMMON NAME: weeping willow

LEAVES: Lancelot and leaves serrate. Up to 5" long.

FRUIT: Look like cotton balls flying around in the summer.

OTHER: Grows up to 50' tall. Branches weep down to the ground. Native to low, moist sites. Not a good landscape tree for many situations due to its invasive root system and limb die-back. Is frequently found in the landscape and in low moist sites could be effectively used. A member of the Salicaceae family. Very fast grower that is easy to transplant. Often has limb dieback. Crown gall (bacteria) can be a problem on willows.
