EXTENSION AGENTS
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is an outreach program designed to help Alabamians by providing research, experience, and knowledge. Extension agents are assigned to every county in Alabama and are at your service to answer questions and offer agricultural advice. Click
here for list of county agents.

PUBLICATIONS
Alabama Cooperative Extension also provides many
publications dealing with common landscape topics and issues. These publications are written by experts to share their knowledge with the public. There are specific publications for plants for Alabama, insect pests, and common disease problems, to name a few.

PLANT LISTS
Many nurseries and garden centers carry native plants. The key is knowing which plants are native. Plant lists are provided for reference material to inform homeowners of plants that are both native and exotic. Each plant’s light and water requirements are provided along with their habit (tree, shrub, vine, etc.). Keep in mind that just because the plant is on the list does not mean it will grow in your yard. Remember that every Alabama yard is different with regards to soil type and texture, sunlight, and climate. Link
here to the Alabama Recommended Plant List and here for a list of Alabama native plants.
