Abstract:

The vertical distribution of Diaptomus pallidus (Herric) and Mesocyclops edax (Forbes) was studied in an artifically destratified pond and in a pond which was allowed to develop normal stratification. No diurnal vertical movement of the population of D. pallidus was observed in either pond. In the stratified pond, portions of the population of M. edax exhibited diurnal vertical migration.
