Summary/Recommendations/Objectives:

Alabama’s rivers, streams and lakes
are priceless in terms of the ecological,
economic and social benefits they provide.
The purpose of this guide is to offer
an introduction to the unique history and
environmental significance of Alabama’s
River Basins and invite further
investigation into Alabama’s abundant
but vulnerable water resources.
It is hoped that these guides will enhance
the dialogue between citizens and key
decision makers and help us move toward
strategies of how to best manage
and protect Alabama’s waters.
