Summary/Recommendations/Objectives:

This 1997 study is the 27th annual survey of biological communities in the Conecuh-Escambia
River system conducted by the Rivers and Reservoirs Laboratory of the
DepaI1ment of Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures, Auburn University. Prior to the Auburn
studies, the Institute of Paper Chemistry (Appleton, Wisconsin) conducted 15 biological
studies in the river. This annual survey is the longest continuous field study ever
conducted by the Fisheries Department.
