john grizzle John Grizzle completed his Ph. D. at Auburn in 1976 and was immediately hired onto the faculty that same year. He taught courses in fish pathology and fish anatomy and physiology. His research interests were fish pathology, histology physiology and toxicology. areas of emphasis included basic studies of disease processes in fish and effects of pollutants on fish. He was project leader for the Southeastern cooperative disease project from 1997 to his retirement in 2007. He was founding co-editor of the Journal of Aquatic Animal Health from 1988 to 1995. He received the distinguished service award from the American Fisheries Society in 1997.
