1703Bill at the shell dedication, april 6, 2007. bill is a professor emeritus in the department. bill rogers became a member of the department in 1964 while working on his ph.d. he received his ph.d from auburn university in 1967. bill taught fish parasites and advanced fish parasites. he was a world expert on the identification and control of fish parasites, publishing over 100 papers in scientific journals. he was head of the department of fisheries and allied aquacultures from 1994 until his retirement in 1995. he received the clarence w. watson award for outstanding service in fisheries health and management from the southeastern association of fish and wildlife agencies in 1998.
