150 As the construction on f. p. 6 progressed the shaping and packing of the fill material in the dam was aided by the use of mules and slip scrapes. the   finished dam was well packed but had peaked at a somewhat uneven top. this technique produced a water tight dam, but was one of the most uneven structures ever built on the project. in time segments of the top became so narrow that it was impossible to get any equipment other than a wheel barrow from one end of the dam to the other.
