South Africa Project
The University of the North (UNIN) in South Africa and Auburn University began discussing partnership in 1995. In 1998 a formal Academic Interchange Agreement was executed between the universities to facilitate joint activities between Auburn's aquaculture program and the Aquaculture Research Unit of UNIN. Significant activities between the two programs are:
· Faculty and student exchanges.
· Cooperative research.
· Development of a distance education project that has equipped both institutions, and established regular lectures and discussions "in real time" by Auburn professors for faculty and students at UNIN.
