     John Jensen upon retirement in 2007
Description: John Jensen was hired as an aquaculture extension specialist on an USAID sponsered aquaculture development project in Brazil in 1972 upon completion of his Brazilian Peace Corps experience. After 3 years in Brazil, he returned to campus to complete his M. S. and Ph.D degrees. Upon completion of his Ph. D. in 1979, he was hired by the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service as an Aquaculture Extension Specialist. He worked as an aquaculture extension specialist until 1995 when he was selected to head the Department of Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures. In 2001 was John elected to serve as the Interim Dean of the College of Agriculture and Interium Director of the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station. He served in this capacity until 2005 when he was asked to serve as a special assitant to the President of Auburn. In 2006, John returned the the Department of Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures to work with the Alabama catfish industry unitl his retirement in 2007.
