Former Director of AUMERC Passed Away

    

   
Dr. William “Bill” Hosking, 70 of Moss Point, MS passed away August 5th, 2008 in Jackson, MS after a brave battle with Leukemia. He was born May 11, 1938 in Easton, PA. Bill served proudly in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. He earned a PhD. in Economics from the University of Georgia. A Professor and Economist, he retired from Auburn University Marine Extension and Research in 1998. Bill loved to travel, and ironically met the love of his life, Evie, on a airplane. Together they traveled around the world on two occasions. He was preceded in death by his father George Hosking. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Evie Hosking of Moss Point, MS; his mother, Kate Hosking of Bethlehem, PA; children, Kathy Goodwin of Moss Point, MS; Beverly Jones of Pascagoula, MS; Edward Fulton of Cumbest Bluff, MS; Cecila Delahoussaye of Gautier, MS; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; a host of friends, former colleagues and neighbors. Visitation will be Friday, August 8th from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point with military honors. Pallbearers will be Edward Fulton, Timothy Jones, Phillip Perry and Doug Cole.
