In 1999, a fire ant exhibit was prepared for the Alabama National Fair.  This exhibit included informational posters, live fire ants, live decapitating flies, and plaster casts of ire ant tunnel systems. From 1999 to present the fire ant booth has been a big hit at the Alabama National Fair.  More than 42,000 fire ant coloring books, and more than 7,000 copies each of five fire ant fact sheets have been distributed to Alabama citizens at the fair. Kids of all ages enjoy watching the decapitating flies in action.  This booth allows us to disseminate knowledge of fire ant biology and management to the public.
