College of Agriculture Facebook

Guidelines for Setting up Facebook Pages

  • Requests for a Facebook page should be made to the Office of Agricultural Communications and Marketing (agcomm@auburn.edu) or through the appropriate authority (i.e. department head, etc.).
  • Someone in the Ag Comm office will be an administrator, and local administrators will be added. Those to be named as "local administrators" must first become a fan of the page before they can be added as an administrator. Rationale for this is to ensure there are no “official” College of Ag- or AAES-related pages that do not have an Auburn employee as an administrator.
  • Unless there is a created logo the default image will be the College of Ag or AAES logo.
  • Ag Communications and Marketing will create boilerplate copy for the Info tab on new Facebook pages.
  • Ag Communications and Marketing staff will review pages periodically to make sure the page is on mission.  However, the site will not be policed by Ag Communications and Marketing unless there is an issue such as using copyrighted images, inappropriate language or plagiarism.
  • Content should be first added to a COA/AAES webpage and then shared out to the appropriate social media service(s). Once the content has been added to a webpage, the best way to post it to a social media service is to use the Share button at the top of the COA/AAES website.
