Recipe Guys

Anyone who thinks too many cooks spoil the stew has never tasted the chicken, prepared by a fairly large group of menfolk-the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Stations Land and Facilities Management crew.

These guys (pictured above) can fix anything, including a delicious barbequed chicken for the most discriminating of the good ole boys - and girls, for that matter!

Here's their secret recipe:

Grilled Redneck Chicken

6 skinless chicken breasts

1 tablespoon (approximately) McCormicks Season All Season Salt (adjust seasoning to taste)

1 bottle John Boy & Billy's Grilling BBQ Sauce (hot or mild, to taste)

2 lemons

1/4 cup white distilled vinegar

Wash chicken and remove all skin. Rub seasoning salt to taste to front and back of chicken. Pour BBQ sauce into bowl and set aside. Save bottle. Take 2 lemons, cut in half and squeeze juice into BBQ sauce bottle. Mix with residue left in bottle. Add vinegar to bottle and shake really well. Place chicken on hot grill. Sear both sides, sealing juice. Cook slowly. Using a tablespoon, sprinkle/drizzle the bottle mixture of juice, vinegar, and left-over sauce over the chicken. Don't let chicken dry out. Turn as needed. When chicken is close to being done, using spoon, drizzle BBQ sauce over chicken, turning to apply sauce at least two times. Take care not to burn chicken. When done, you can drizzle sauce over chicken or oven-cook it for more flavor.
