Mission:

The Alabama Wildlife Center was founded in 1977 with a dual mission:
1. To provide medical and rehabilitative care for Alabama's injured and orphaned native wildlife to permit animals' return to the wild.
2. To educate people in order to heighten awareness and appreciation for Alabama's native wildlife.

Specific Issues:

The Alabama Wildlife Center provides rehabilitation of 2,500 injured or orphaned animals of 100 species annually.

The AWC operates a wildlife emergency hotline, staffed 13 hours every day of the year at (205) 621-3333. Leave a message, a trained volunteer will call you back between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Donations can be made online 24/7/365 at www.awrc.org.
