The following is a statement by the Black Warrior River Riverkeeper

We are a citizen-based nonprofit organization dedicated to improving water quality, habitat, recreation, and public health throughout our patro area, the Black Warrior River watershed. This vital river basic is home to over a million people and is entirely contained wihtin Alabama, America's leading state for freshwater biodiversity. Throughout the watershed, our staff identifies major pollution problems and works on cleaning them up while increasing public awareness.
