Upchurch Fund for Excellence in Animal Sciences

Publication cost (Application form)

1. Funds will be made available from the Upchurch Fund for Excellence on a case-by-case basis to defray a portion of the publication charges associated with manuscripts that are accepted for publication in externally peer-reviewed publications. The principal author of the published research must be a faculty member in the Department of Animal Sciences.
2. Funds will be provided to cover up to 50% of publication costs for up to two refereed publications per year.
3. Faculty seeking support of publication costs should complete a request submitted to the Department Head, Department of Animal Sciences.
4. Funds will be awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis until available funds are encumbered.

Travel to Professional Meetings ( Application form)

1. Application for the award must be made by a faculty member in the Department of Animal Sciences.
2. This fund is to support travel for faculty, staff and students that are presenting an oral or poster presentation, chairing a paper session, or other formal representation of the Department of Animal Sciences at a professional meeting in their area of expertise.
3. No more than one award per year per individual will be allowed.
4. The award must be matched equally with funds from other sources.
5. Funds will be disbursed on a first-come-first-serve basis to the extent that resources are available.
6. Overall administrative responsibility for fund distribution will reside with the Head, Department of Animal Sciences.
