Cultivars

Fully mature Sericea lespedeza grown for bioenergy.
Plants can be kept in the field throughout winter and harvested when needed.
New cultivars are more productive and/or more persistent . They can be used in the protection and conservation of soil and water resources, reduction of surface water pollutant transport, improvement of soil productivity, preservation of a favorable balance between pests and predators and enhancement of biological diversity. In addition, some cultivars have ornamental value for banks and roadsides or for the production of bioenergy. Organic farmers and those interested in growing crops for green manure may find these cultivars valuable.
