2. Members of board approved
committees do not have to be on the board of the directors. Committee chairman
will be appointed by the Chairman of the Board except for Chairman of the Standards
and Ethnics Committee.
The Chair-Elect will serve as chairman of the Standards and Ethnics Committee.
3. Alabama will cooperate
with Georgia, South Carolina, Florida and any other state who wishes to cooperate
in developing, maintaining, and administering a regional exam instead of a state
specific exam.
4. The
Chairman of the Board will appoint representatives(s) to the
regional exam committee or functions. Decisions made by these
representatives in cooperation with representative from other
states will be binding.
5.
Reciprocity Agreements.
- Established with Georgia,
South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida in a single
agreement.
- Established with Mississippi
in a separate agreement.
- Chairman of the Board has
authority to sign other agreements, as long as they are
similar to and not more restrictive than current
agreements.
6. Chairman of the board
or an appointed representative will represent Alabama on the National CCA Coordinating
Committee.
7.
Requirements for Certification will be same as the National CCA
Requirements.
8.
Standard and Ethics Committee
Duties:
- Investigate complaints on
standard and/or ethics violations
- Make Judgements on
credentials if necessary
- Serve as the first point of appeal on decision
made by any committee or any complaint or request. If this committee cannot
solve the issue or problem, the next and final line for action is the entire
"Board of Directors".
9.
Credential Review for Certification:
The chairman of the board will
appoint one person to review credentials submitted for
certifications. If everything is in order (educational
requirements, letters of reference and recommendation for
certification by references) this person will approve
certification.
If those writing references raise
a question or a concern or if the reviewer has a concern,
credentials will be forwarded to the standard and ethics
committee or the entire "Board of Directors" for
evaluations and or decisions.
If there is an experience problem
with the applicant, application will be put on hold until
experience is gained. If the applicant disagrees with experience
allowed, he/she can appeal to the standard and ethics committee.
10. CEU's.
- The chairman of the Board
will appoint someone to assign and track CEU's. If those
requesting CEU's disagree with hours assigned, they can
appeal to the standard and ethics committee.
- Training approved for
pesticide certification or recertification by the Alabama
Department of Agriculture will be assigned pre-approved
CEU's.
- Up to 50% of the CEU's can be
self directed.
- National CEU's will be
honored by the Alabama program including those earned
through registered correspondence exams.
- The Alabama program will
honor CEU's assigned by any state.
11.
Membership dues are $20.00/year.
12.
Monies:
- As with all states, Alabama
CCA monies are held by the American Society of Agronomy.
The national CCA program automatically withdraws funds to
cover state expenses, such as mailing and exam printing.
The remaining monies are to be used by the state to
administer the CCA program
- The chairman of the State
Board will serve as treasurer. The treasurer will request
ASA to withdraw funds to cover state expenses, such as
mailing, exam administration, coping, portage, etc.
- Funds will not be used to
reimburse the treasurer for expenses incurred unless the
expenses were pre-approved by the standard and ethics
committee.
- Expenditures that are not
normal operating cost must be pre-approved by the
standard and ethics committee.
- The treasurer will present a
financial report to the board of directors each year.
13. Exam
Fee Exemptions. State fees will be waived for public employees
who cannot be reimbursed for exam fees. This waiver is for first
attempts only.
