1. Get the Installation CD from Lee.  There are written instructions included.  If they are not, click Installing.pdf to get a .pdf version of the installation instructions.

(NOTE:  It is assumed that you have Administrative privileges on your computer to install a print driver.  If you do not, contact the Agronomy and Soils Systems Administrator.)

2. Insert the CD into your computer’s CD drive.  Open the file for the operating system of your computer.  Either XP or XP-64

3.  Follow the written instructions to install the print driver.  When completed, you should be able to check the Printers and Faxes dialog in Windows and find the icon of the Z3100 as seen on the left.  If the printer has NOT been defined, contact the Agronomy and Soils Systems Administrator and find out why.

4.Install the HP_Printer_Utility by clicking on the Zip file icon.  The process will auto-install and automatically initiate the Printer Utility.  This is a very handy piece of software that will ensure that your computer is fitted with the latest paper definitions and color controls.

You are now ready to move to Phase II of the Poster Printing Process. 

Phase II discusses how to build a poster to fit the paper properly.  If you have already completed that task you can skip to Phase III.
