Requirements For
Admission:
When you apply to Auburn, the
admissions staff carefully assesses your academic potential.
Each application is given personal consideration. Admission
standards are based on the quality of your high school grades
as well as your score on either the American College Test
(ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
The following high school curriculum
requirements apply to entering freshmen:
- Four years of English
- Three years of Social Studies
- One year of Algebra I
- One year of Algebra II
- One year of Biology
- One year of Physical Science
- One year of Geometry, Calculus, Analysis
or Trigonometry
Although not required, an additional
science, an additional social studies, and a foreign language
are recommended.
How
to Apply

By the appropriate deadline,
send your completed application and a $25 (check or
money order) non-refundable application fee to:

If you are a freshman
applicant or a transfer applicant with less than one
year of college work, send the Admissions Office a
current high school transcript.

If you have taken college
courses, send two complete transcripts from the college(s)
attended to the Admissions Office.

Have your official ACT
or SAT reported to the Admissions Office if you are
a freshman applicant or transfer applicant with less
than one year of college work. When you take the test,
you can arrange to have the scores forwarded.

To apply for financial aid or scholarships, complete the application for Federal
Student Aid. The application is available free from
the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Additionally, the University offers approximately 885
Academic Scholarships for freshman totaling more than
$1,808,270. An application for these scholarships is
not required. Instead, high school students who wish
to be considered for University Academic Scholarships
for Freshman must:
- Be eligible for
admission to Auburn University.
- Have a 27 on the
ACT (or a comparable SAT) and a 3.0 high school
grade-point average. This may differ for individual
departments. For information on Agronomy scholarship
opportunities contact Dr. Joe Hood
- >Have on file, in
the admission's office by December 1, an Auburn
University Application for Admission, the required
application fee, all test scores, a high school
transcript, and any other paperwork required
for acceptance.
- High school students
who meet the criteria above will automatically
be considered for University Academic Scholarships
for Freshman. Award letters for these scholarships
are typically mailed in late February.

If you are a freshman
applicant, ask your school counselor to send a copy
of your high school transcript to the Admissions Office
after graduation.
