OBJECTIVES:
1. To understand basic descriptive statistics.
2. To understand basic inferential statistics for estimation and hypothesis testing.
3. To understand the principles and logic of hypothesis testing.
4. To understand fundamental aspects of multivariate estimation and hypothesis testing.
HOMEWORK: Projects, End of Chapter Problems, or other activities will be due weekly.
These may include library and computer projects. Plan to complete them neatly and on
time. A variety of projects will be assigned throughout the quarter.
COMPUTER ACCOUNTS. Each student is required to have an account and password to access
the IBM mainframe and Internet email on the Mallard. Use the application icon in AIMS
called DUC or AUNET. Enter your social security and personal access code. If you do
not have email, put an X beside Sun; for mainframe account put X next to Academic TSO.
Your account will be activated within 24 hours. You will need both for the course.
EXAMINATIONS:
· Multiple examinations and cumulative review final.

· Unannounced quizzes at any time.
· Final Exam is 8:00AM Friday 11 December
EVALUATION:
· Examinations are about 60 percent of your grade;
homework and projects account for the remainder.
· Course points = [.60 * test points] + [.40 * project points]
· Percentage = [Course points + Pop Quiz points] / total
· [A=92-100; B=84-91; C=72-83; D=64-71.]
· No incompletes will be given
